Welcome to the jungle! Come join our holiday camp for primary school learners. Do you have a thirst for adventure and a love for Christ? Are you keen on doing something fun and making new friends? Even if you are not sure, why not come and see anyway. Contact/WhatsApp Pastor Gabriel Pretorius (083 518 1654) for more details, or alternatively the church office. Holiday Club will be hosted on our secure church premises with enthusiastic and energised leaders looking after them.
I am so excited to share that UBC will be hosting special study sessions called The Truth Project by Focus on the Family. This study aims to explore what you as a believing follower of Christ have internalised when it comes to worldviews. In reference to The Truth Project website, a study done by Barna Research Group have found that only a small percentage of acknowledging Christians have a biblical worldview. Shocking to say the least! I am sure that if we look around us, and even within us, we might find lives very similar to unbelievers.
So now we might take the time and see, yes, there are issues within what I believe, what now? Don’t Panic! This course is there for exactly that reason, to help us make sure we stay on the right track. I invite you to reap the benefits of a study that can grow you closer to God as we learn more about Him. So why not take the chance?
Please join us on a Sunday evening, as we walk through the Word of God.
Vision Sunday (22 January) is when our leadership shares with us in what God is leading us (UBC) to do for 2017 and onward. We also have a special guest Oscar Ehrensperger and Gospel singer who will lead us in Worship at 8h30 Sunday morning. Sunday evening Oscar Ehrensperger will also be holding a free concert in our church building. All welcome!
All sermons have been updated! Please feel free to listen or share sermons with family and friends. For more information on UBC, our sermons or any of our ministries, please feel free to contact us at our church office or via email. Love to hear from you.
Thank you for your continual support! Have a good 2017.
As Christmas draws closer, we start getting ready for holidays and the mad rush associated with this time of year. For me, it is my favourite time of year as I get to spend time with my family and just have a relaxing time with them. But this year especially, I tried to keep my eyes focussed on Jesus and the good news surrounding His birth. In my own life, especially the end of this year, God showed once again how involved He is in my life and in what wonderful ways He keeps close to us even when we might not ‘feel’ His presence. Whether you are with family this year, or even alone, know this; God is with you and wants to spend time with you! Reflect on the joy of his coming for the sake of sinful, stubborn people. Reflect on how much Jesus as the son of God had to give up for our sakes, so we could be reconciled to Him as His children. Finally, realise how much He loves you through it all. Whether you are going through joyful times or troubled waters.
From UBC, I would like to thank all of our faithful readers and Website users for supporting this online initiative. I hope and pray that we will be able to continue in this ministry and reach out to those who desire to hear about our wonderful God. Please note the following, all coming Sunday’s sermons will only be uploaded around the 5th of January 2017 as I will be on leave. Thank you again for supporting us and I pray that you will have a safe, blessed Christmas time.
THE NATIVITY by C.S Lewis
Among the oxen (like an ox I’m slow)
I see a glory in the stable grow
Which, with the ox’s dullness might at length
Give me an ox’s strength.
Among the asses (stubborn I as they)
I see my Saviour where I looked for hay;
So may my beastlike folly learn at least
The patience of a beast.
Among the sheep (I like a sheep have strayed)
I watch the manger where my Lord is laid;
Oh that my baa-ing nature would win thence
Some woolly innocence!
Today we had a huge turnout for membership and Baptism. We just want to thank the Lord for them and pray that God grows them in their faith and service. If you would like to see more pictures of today, click the link below, it will redirect you to our Facebook page. God bless.
On Sunday we will have a Baptismal service. If you would like to be Baptised, please contact Pastor Guy Shaw at the church office. If you are unsure of what Baptism really means, please listen to our past Sunday’s sermon on what Baptism really is all about. Just click the link below! What is Believer’s Baptism all about?
