New changes and Sermons

As you can see from the post below, we will be switching to a new website on a permanent basis at the end of the year. The new website will have the same basic structure/information as the old one, but much easier to use and better organised. Another big change added to the new website will be a static home page. We will no longer employ the use of blog posts.

What will not change is our desire to share our sermons. The only catch is that all older sermons will not be uploaded to the new website, and the latest/newest ones will only be uploaded to the new website, to prevent double the work of uploading them.  Sermons from the 1 Peter series and newer will be available on the new website. This means the following; if you would like to keep any of the older sermons, now is the time to download and start that collection, as we cannot keep them hosted on the new website. Unfortunately, it will also administrative chaos to provide them through the church office, so we cannot organise alternative means to access them. Please take the time now to download the sermons, they will remain until the end of the year.

Thank you!

New website is here!

Our new website is up and running. Clutter-free, easier to use and a bit more modern!  Please feel free to use it as an alternative to this one which will remain on the web in the meantime as we make the switch-over.

A few important dates!

The Truth Project

I am so excited to share that UBC will be hosting special study sessions called The Truth Project by Focus on the Family.  This study aims to explore what you as a believing follower of Christ have internalised when it comes to worldviews.  In reference to The Truth Project website, a study done by Barna Research Group have found that only a small percentage of acknowledging Christians have a biblical worldview. Shocking to say the least! I am sure that if we look around us, and even within us, we might find lives very similar to unbelievers.
So now we might take the time and see, yes, there are issues within what I believe, what now?  Don’t Panic!  This course is there for exactly that reason, to help us make sure we stay on the right track.  I invite you to reap the benefits of a study that can grow you closer to God as we learn more about Him. So why not take the chance?
Please join us on a Sunday evening, as we walk through the Word of God.

CHRISTmas time!

Dear reader,

As Christmas draws closer, we start getting ready for holidays and the mad rush associated with this time of year.  For me, it is my favourite time of year as I get to spend time with my family and just have a relaxing time with them. But this year especially, I tried to keep my eyes focussed on Jesus and the good news surrounding His birth.  In my own life, especially the end of this year, God showed once again how involved He is in my life and in what wonderful ways He keeps close to us even when we might not ‘feel’ His presence. Whether you are with family this year, or even alone, know this; God is with you and wants to spend time with you! Reflect on the joy of his coming for the sake of sinful, stubborn people.  Reflect on how much Jesus as the son of God had to give up for our sakes, so we could be reconciled to Him as His children. Finally, realise how much He loves you through it all. Whether you are going through joyful times or troubled waters.

From UBC, I would like to thank all of our faithful readers and Website users for supporting this online initiative. I hope and pray that we will be able to continue in this ministry and reach out to those who desire to hear about our wonderful God. Please note the following, all coming Sunday’s sermons will only be uploaded around the 5th of January 2017 as I will be on leave. Thank you again for supporting us and I pray that you will have a safe, blessed Christmas time.

Among the oxen (like an ox I’m slow)
I see a glory in the stable grow
Which, with the ox’s dullness might at length
Give me an ox’s strength.

Among the asses (stubborn I as they)
I see my Saviour where I looked for hay;
So may my beastlike folly learn at least
The patience of a beast.

Among the sheep (I like a sheep have strayed)
I watch the manger where my Lord is laid;
Oh that my baa-ing nature would win thence
Some woolly innocence!
